A powerful Racial Equity workshop is scheduled for Saturday February 16, 2019. This is a three hour workshop that will be held at 9am and repeated at 1:30. Come to either the morning OR the afternoon. Detailed description is below and attached. Please distribute to everyone in your group.

Sponsored by a collaboration with UA Office of Diversity and Inclusion, OMNI Center, and a wide array of local groups determined to see fairness and care in our communities. It will be worth your time to attend, especially since there is NO CHARGE TO ATTEND !

Description of Community Facing Bias Workshop Feb 16
Facing Bias
This highly interactive workshop is designed to foster awareness, clarity, reflection and discussion about the concepts of diversity, inclusion, equity, access, unconscious/implicit bias and blind spots, through participant engagement in large and small group discussions.

Participants will be invited to collaborate in learning by sharing experiences, questions and perspectives related to workshop content in a thoughtfully facilitated environment.

Participants will leave with resources to help guide further reflection, conversation and action to counter unconscious/implicit bias and to promote diversity, equity and inclusion.

Workshop Facilitators:
Anne Shelley is the Executive Director of NWA Center for Sexual Assault and regularly facilitates diversity and inclusion training at the University of Arkansas, and for non-profit agencies locally and around the state.

RoAnne Elliott is a former school district administrator recently relocated to Fayetteville from Minnesota where she worked with teachers and administrators on diversity and equity initiatives.
