Almost one third of the world’s population (1.6 billion people) endure the hardship of energy poverty. This means that they have no power at all, or it is too expensive, and unreliable. To bring this many people online with fossil fuels would be a death knell to our planet. Solar under the Sun (solarunderthesun.org) has trained missioners that have installed stand alone solar power systems in Haiti, Honduras, Ukraine, Guatemala, Kenya, Uganda and Puerto Rico.
