Deciding who to vote for! Help voting in this election and how to find your sample ballot
If you’re trying to decide on who to vote for, here’s a way to find the sample ballot that can help guide you.
Early voting started yesterday (May 9) and goes on weekdays and Saturdays until Election Day. Early voting hours are 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Election day is Tuesday May 24. Election day hours are 7:30 am to 7:30 pm.
Every precinct in the county has a unique set of candidates for all the different offices and issues that relate to them, so there’s no single listing for the best choice of candidate for you. However, on the Secretary of State’s webpage you can see a sample ballot to help you plan your choice of candidates. Unfortunately, it’s a kind of screwy site that’s not simple to navigate. Below are step-by-step directions to get to the sample ballot for your unique candidates list.
Once you know who your actual candidates are, read carefully to see who’s running. If you know and trust some of them you’ll want to be sure to vote for those folks. if there are some you don’t know, research online, and ask friends and neighbors for recommendations.
You can vote at ANY polling location in your prescient. Check the long list you saw from the VoterView webpage for the most convenient ones and head on over.
Finding Your Sample Ballot 1.      Go to VoterView on the Secretary of State’s website, to this search page: https://www.voterview.ar-nova.org/VoterView 2.      Fill in your name and date of birth in the look-up and click “Look Up”.  3.      That takes you to the list of polling places (called “Vote Centers” here) 4.      Scroll to the very end of the long list and there are 3 small links to sample ballots for Democrat, Republican and Non-partisan primary tickets. You can explore them all.Take your choice, but remember to vote for your values for peace, justice and the Earth. Especially justice, with all the machinations going on. Which candidates will be backing your real values after election day?
