Hiroshima Nagasaki Commemoration

COMING SOON Sunday August 11, 7:00 pm Unitarian Universalist Fellowship 901 W. Cleveland The annual commemoration is coming together beautifully. Because of the tense situation with Iran, we’ve invited Iranian musician Mahshid Iraniprivast to perform, and she graciously agreed. There will also be a striking and moving music video done by Professor Nikola Radan called Hiroshima: Clash of Civilizations. In addition to the traditional elements of the event – proclamation by Mayor Jordan, music by Still on the Hill, and the traditional Obon Lights More information will be coming soon, so put this on your calendar.

People Power

Mon Aug 5 – 6:00 pm – Omni Center Last night the Quorum Court adopted a suggestion People Power and the Arkansas Justice Network have been pushing for over several months. That’s a study by a neutral outside party of our county criminal justice system that could assess current policies and practices, and suggest efficient. just and humane ways to improve our operations. They approved $100,000 for the study, with the understanding that they may need to approve more when a group is identified.
