Vegan ThanksLiving Potluck Dinner

Sunday November 23rd, 5:30-8pm

Omni Center For Peace, Justice & Ecology

3274 N Lee Ave Fayetteville, AR 72703

Come join us for our ThanksLiving holiday celebration and dinner! An alternative to traditional and typical Thanksgiving dinners, where the animals stay alive and are not served on platters. Yay! 😃 Eating animal free foods; vegan, Whole Food Plant Based, raw plant foods, etc. helps us human animals stay alive and thrive, too!

We give our thanks and honor all living beings and our planet with these compassionate, healthful, eco-logical and mindful food choices.

Being vegan and plant based has become more common now, than ever before and recommended by many doctors and other health professionals (see Forks Over Knives, Eating You Alive, The Game Changers) for optimal health, to reduce risk of and often reverse many chronic diseases, e.g. heart disease, type 2 diabetes, cancer.

Also, significantly reduces greenhouse gases, pollution, loss of wildlife habitat and animal suffering. It takes a fraction of the land, energy and water for raising plant foods vs animal products. Much more efficient/sustainable!

Many of us have a difficult time at Thanksgiving and other holiday dinners for various reasons; Sparse (if any) food options. Family and friends can be rude, antagonistic, or inconsiderate. And many of us are uneasy with animal flesh being served as centerpiece of the meal because we are well aware of the suffering the animals endured before ending up on the dinner table. It can be very challenging and stressful! If that’s your experience, this is for you!

Many more are fortusnate to have kind, considerate family/friends who accept and appreciate us in spite of our differences and take the time and effort to accommodate us at meals. We can be thankful for them! And to folks who are kind to animals, people, the planet and doing their part to help make the world better, kinder, healthier and more sustainable. Thank you! This dinner and celebration is for you!

Please bring a vegan dish to share enough for at least 8 servings. Traditional, non-traditional, home cooked, or store bought is fine. Just please ensure all ingredients are animal/dairy free and vegan. A list of ingredients (or package), or the recipe can be helpful for those with food allergies. Some may want a photo, or a copy of your recipe, too. Desserts & beverages (no alcohol) are welcome additions, if you want to bring any. If you need recipe ideas try this:

Also, please bring a small (or large ; ) cash donation for Omni Center to show our gratitude for the use their space.

It would be great to have new folks there, with our regular and long time members who haven’t been in awhile. Come out, come out wherever you are!

Please share/invite family, friends and all kind, animal friendly, health and eco minded folks! Share this with Meetup and/or FB event:
