Upcoming from Indivisible NWA

from kristylemmon and Lisa Childs, Indivisible NWA

Dear friends,

I know you’ve become accustomed to regular Monday emails – we’ve been overwhelmed with so many good things and good people that we’re having trouble keeping up. (Not to mention life bringing complications – I spent four hours in the ER with my mom (you may know her as GrandHolly) last night. She took a right-good fall and needed X-rays, CAT scans, and eleven stitches. She’s got a shiner, too, but overall is OK. The lesson learned: Let the strawberries go, even homegrown, freshly picked strawberries. There’ll be more, if not this spring, then next.)

Upcoming:

1)    Weekly Protest at Offices of Sen. Cotton and Rep. Womack: Where Are They? Thu. 2-3:30 https://mobilize.us/s/jYH34v May’s theme: Where’s Womack? Where’s Cotton? What are they doing to Protect Medicare and Medicaid? Tax the Rich Instead!

2)   What’s the Plan: Indivisible’s Founders Ezra and Leah. Also weekly, Thu. 2-3, but virtual. https://www.mobilize.us/indivisible/event/773746/ This week, we expect to hear more specifics about plans for June 14.

3)   Monthly Indivisible NWA Meeting: Listening to Relatives and Friends. Sat. May 17, 1:00-3:00. https://mobilize.us/s/LHug02

Opportunity: If you’re interested in helping with Listening to Relatives and Friends as a small group facilitator, please email us (Lisa Childs at indivisiblenwa@gmail.com or Kristy Lemmon at kristylemmon@outlook.com or Jan Amann at JanAmann1@gmail.com). Look for additional information to come about this.

Also, if you sign up for events through these mobilize.us links above, you will get reminders and any updates as to time and location.

In related news, we’re working to put in systems and structures to share the work and the joy with you all. We had a great group show up on Saturday, which will get us started in the next phase. We’ve grown from around ten to around a thousand in four months, which is amazing! – We want to continue to grow in this community because empowering Arkansans to do democracy together shouldn’t be limited to just the first ones to show up, and we plan to be here for the long haul of rebuilding a better democracy.

Lisa

P.S. I understand that replying to the email often bounces. You can always email me at indivisiblenwa@gmail.com. Since I work outside the home, my answers may be delayed (and you can also email me again if you don’t hear back from me), but I do read these emails.

Courage is courageous!
