Pinwheels for Peace

A piece of our heartsmoved to Omni

Someday you’ll get to meet Helen Kwiatkowski, an artist and teacher new to town, who has a life-long passion for peace. While she was teaching art in Texas she started organizing Pinwheels for Peace with her own art students and from schools all around the area. When she moved here last year she started looking for people and places to replicate this project in peace-loving Fayetteville.

The Pinwheels for Peace Project was installed at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on East Street but needed to move out this week. Now some have moved to Omni Center and some along Fayetteville Walking Trails. The gentle whirl like they’re prayer wheels are still sending out our longing for a world that’s peaceful and just for every single person on a planet that thrives.
