No Nukes UA

March 26 – 12:30 pm – corner of MLK and Razorback RoadStop the University of Arkansas Nuclear Weapons Program3 Monthly ProtestsAbel Tomlinson <abeltomlinson@gmail.com>

Dear friends,
Our local Campaign to Stop the University of Arkansas Nuclear Weapons Program is off to a great start!

We had great media coverage of our last event from KNWA News and UATV, as well as in-depth interviews on KPSQ and KUAF/NPR radio (links unavailable right now). Our campaign efforts were also published in great detail in the international journal Covert Action Magazine.

Our next plan of action is three monthly Peace Protests Calling for the U of A to Cancel its Illegal Nuclear Weapons Program with the Honeywell Corporation, and for a Stop to Endless Warfare and Bomb Building altogether. As previously mentioned, the Nobel Peace Prize-winning organization ICAN, which spearheaded the nuclear bomb ban treaty (TPNW), has issued a report calling the U of A a “School of Mass Destruction.”

Our monthly protests will be on the last Tuesdays of the month, March 30th & April 27th at 12:30 P.M. We will protest at the entrance to the U of A, at the intersection of M.L.K. Blvd & Razorback Rd (1417 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Fayetteville). You can park at the gas station there or at the nearby strip mall.  Please wear a mask!

We’ll have a planning meeting on Zoom this coming Saturday, Feb. 13th at 4:00 P.M. https://us04web.zoom.us/j/75874498136?pwd=TGFBMHRrTEErT2VUdUJFaGM0MjMxdz09 Meeting ID: 758 7449 8136 Passcode: vEKGY7

If you’re able, please print the attached event flyer and help put up on bulletin boards around town.

Also, if you’re able to donate to this campaign, please send checks to: Arkansas Nonviolence Alliance 60 W. Smith St. Fayetteville, AR 72701   I hope to see you on February 23rd.   Toward Peace, Abel Tomlinson OMNI Peace Action Committee, Chair
