Prof. Emeritus Mounir Farah will present a series of three talks on Arab views of the US since WWII, beginning Tuesday, May 7, 7p.m,. at OMNI.

Arab Views of the United States since WWII
From Hope and Admiration to Hostility and Indignation

A three part presentation by Mounir Farah examining key events and circumstances that changed the Middle East from a promising region rich with resources and potentials for a prosperous and peaceful area to a fragmented and conflicting collection of states and domains. What role did the United States play in effecting the change? The reasons and motivations for the US policies that contributed to the rise of the current turmoil will be presented and discussed.
Part I – From the establishment of Israel through the Six-Day War in 1967.
Part II – From 1967 to 1911 the year that the so-called Arab Spring began.
Part III – The contemporary scene including an examination of “Springs” to the present
