Charlotte O’Neal visits Fayetteville

Sponsored by Pattie Williams and Jimmye WhitakerSat/ March 14-20 – More information coming Former Black Panther Charlotte O’Neal, and her husband Pete, fled the United States in 1971 after their friends were murdered by the CIA and other law enforcement. Pete can never return, but “Mama” Charlotte O’Neal is a fascinating speaker who makes trips to the US. Fayetteville is very lucky to have this chance to meet Mama Chrlotte, and hear some of the stories of her and Pete’s lives in Tanzania.


Building the Masterplan for the Omni Grounds

Sun March 8 – 1:00 pm – Omni Second meeting of volunteers meeting to create a master plan for Omni’s grounds that will include the Hank Kaminsky sculpture “Peace”. Architect Michael Cochram and a group of volunteers are working through a consensus based decision making process to see that this project has wide buy-in from Omni members and friends. No War On Iran UPDATE

Protest Sat Jan 25 – 1:00 pm Washington County Courthouse Dickson St. Dear Friends, Although the Iran War has de-escalated some, new starvation sanctions are being placed on Iran, which is deadly economic warfare. For example, Trump’s sanctions on Venezuela killed over 40,000 people, and Bush-Clinton sanctions killed over 500,000 children. The sanctions are intended to make the population suffer so much they’ll overthrow their government. 1. Although we, regrettably, cancelled last week’s protest due to weather and too few waterproof signs, a few people showed up anyways! We really need to make rainproof signs!  We’ll now focus all our energy on ensuring the big Global Day […]

This Friday and every Friday rest of this year Fri Oct 25 – noon-1:00 – College and Dickson Streets Lots of people in Fayetteville see this is wrong. Quakers of Fayetteville are crazy enough to think you’re one of them. Come join them, rain or shine, every Friday until Christmas. The terrible situation on our border is getting more horrific. Fayetteville Quaker Meeting invites other concerned people to join them in reminding our community that this is not what our values can tollerate. Please wear white to the protest.

The documentary centers on 62-year-old veteran of Japan’s Second World Warcampaign in New Guinea, Kenzo Okuzaki, and follows him around as he searches out those responsible for the unexplained deaths of two soldiers in his old unit.
