Weds January 23 – 5:30 pm – City Hall Room 326 First meeting after the new mayor comes onboard. What new thinking might be in store that’s different than before? If you’ve never attended these meetings, start the new year strong by observing citizen participation in action. The Task Force members are starting to get their feet solidly on the ground after several months of research. Arkansas Renters United Meets

Saturday Jan 18 – 1:00 pm – Omni Center, 3274 N. Lee Ave. Renters in Northwest Arkansas are meeting tomorrow – Saturday January 18 – to talk about their concerns – which are many. Any Omni folks who are renting will find the discussions very relevant to their experience. Discussions are ALWAYS lively learning experiences. If you don’t rent but support rights and well-being for renters of course you’ll find it interesting too.


January 12 update on the Tiffany property

Climate Moment

Australian climate activists blockade world’s largest coal port “Rising Tide” climate activists recently caused a temporary suspension of shipping at the world’s largest coal port in Newcastle. More than 100 kayaks blocked the shipping channel as part of several days of protest actions that led to 173 arrests.   A few days later, in a coordinated act of civil disobedience, hundreds of protesters blocked the road to Parliament in Canberra, leading to more arrests.  The protesters are calling on the government to immediately cancel all new fossil fuel projects and end all coal exports from Newcastle by 2030.
