Not only did more than a dozen pilgrims walk from Bentonville to Fayetteville to raise awareness about chronic homelessness, they were also joined by many more for the Last Mile and a Community Meal at New Beginnings. Ziva Branstetter & Kathleen DuVal Pulitzer Prize Winners

Ziva Branstetter, daughter of local celebrity and Omni member Art Hobson, is a journalist for ProPublica and did a great report on the impacts of the death of Roe v. Wade, that won her a Pulitzer Prize recently. Along with history author Kathleen DuVal, who did an amazing book on native Americans over a thousand years. They’ll be home visiting soon and Their departments are throwing them a well-deserved party. Come say ‘hi’!


Still Saving Fayetteville trees

The website explains why this plan for a new school in this location is such a bad idea, including that it involves destroying approximately 4,000 trees in the middle of Fayetteville. And people DO NOT HAVE TO BE A RESIDENT OF FAYETTEVILLE, OR EVEN ARKANSAS, TO SIGN, at this stage of the process. Thank you! Save Our Trees!


Gateway Feeds Folks Helps Out

Saturday Oct 25 Community Meal Feeds Folks will be helping to serve the Pilgrimage Community Meal and would like your help, Omni friends. We’ll be providing side dishes to go along with chili and cornbread served by a couple of other groups who feed homeless folks. Do you have a favorite picnic dish that would go along with chili? Walk With Us: A Pilgrimage to Call Home

Oct 23-25 – New Beginnings Northwest Arkansas Community inspiration and fundraiser for a leader in the movement to end homelessness in Northwest Arkansas. Neighbors will lace up their shoes and walk the Northwest Arkansas Razorback Greenway from Bentonville to Fayetteville. Over three days, participants will walk more than 30 miles, sleep along the way, and learn about homelessness in our community—all to raise awareness and funds for The Future of New Beginnings campaign and our next supportive housing neighborhood, Spruce Street Gardens.
