New Beginnings is a micro home village in South Fayetteville that houses 20 formerly-homeless people giving them a brand new start in life. Logan Hubberd from the UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute in Fayetteville, has been developing programs to help foster community within their clinic. It’s to provide more resources to the patients and aid in their treatment. A program he’s working on is adding a community library to the clinic so the patients can have access to literature, and provide some group activities, like book discussions. Logan plans to add bookshelves – or “Little Libraries” around the clinic. But his primary focus right now is to add a bookshelf to the waiting area that gets most traffic.
