A longing for peace in a culture of war

Hiroshima Nagasaki Remembrance

Sunday August 4 – 6:00 pm – Omni Center

3274 N. Lee Ave., Fayetteville

Hiroshima Nagasaki dinner is one week away! Register for the lovely summer Japanese meal at this Eventbrite link.

Inspiring speakers and music too. Dr. Art Hobson will share a report about the nuclear test ban treaty that was adopted last year, Prof. Ted Swedenburg will show the clear link between what happened in Hiroshima and Nagasaki and what’s happening in Gaza right now, and Marshallese activist Marcina Langrine will share experiences of her people during the nuclear testing our own country did on the Marshall Islands. In addition, Kelly and Donna Mulhollan will present some of the poignant music that expresses the longing for peace that humans all over the globe feel in the face of these horrific examples of what is NOT our best humanity.

Register for the dinner as soon as you can. The MayDay chefs need to know how many to prepare for. Income from the meal will go to support MayDay in feeding homeless people in Fayetteville, as they’ve done for five years now!

Thank you Omni folks for your dedication to peace in our troubled world.
