Tuesday’s City Council meeting will decide the fate of Fayetteville! Can Swarm Aero be stopped? Will we continue to be the caring community who’s the beacon on the hill we’ve always seen ourselves as? Or will we be dragged into the dystopian future of industrial warfare by fulfilling the wet dream s of Steve Womack and Ron Maloney? They seem to have started this whole steamroll.
This is one of those moments when your voice totally matters. Please call your city council persons. You have two, listed below, and they both need to hear that you do NOT want a war drone factory in our town. Ward 1 friends, please note that Counselor Bob Stafford may be leaning toward support for approval, and D’Andre Jones is concerned about liability. They need to be confident of public support for them to vote against this. In Ward 2, Mike Wiederkehr may be in support of the drone factory. He needs to hear resistance! Mike and Teresa Turk may be more strongly influenced by environmental aspects of the issue. All our city council needs to hear that their people are choosing to hold the high ground for peace, justice and the Earth on this! NO WAR DRONES STAMPED “MADE IN FAYETTEVILLE”!!!!!
The sales pitch is that the war drone factory will provide good-paying jobs and a high tax base. The only downside is selling our souls to the devil of war and empire. If you care about that, PLEASE SPEAK OUT!
The meeting is Tuesday May 19 at 5:30 at City Hall. With a possibility that the mayor will divide the agenda into two days because of thecharged nature of the issues.
