City Council rejects safe camp – for now

After 40 people testified on the critical importance of a safe and stable location where unhoused people would be permitted to camp, the city council punted yet again. But they agreed to resurrect the issue at the next meeting, where they would have feedback from the new homelessness task force that met for the first time on June 18.

If you’re interested the topic will be discussed at the agenda session next Tuesday June 24 at 5:30 pm and again at the regular meeting on July 1 at city hall. An email, call or text to your Councilperson would let them know you want to see a caring outcome in Fayetteville. Contact for them is always at the bottom of this newsletter.
