Invitation for Participation & Outreach: Interfaith Climate Retreat
Joanna Person-Michener
Dear Omni Friends
I am reaching out to invite you to something I am newly a part of, which is a local group of faith and nonprofit leaders organizing the Interfaith Climate Retreat, a community event focused on climate action and hope. We would love to share this opportunity to engage our community on climate justice with the OMNI Center and the Quaker Community. There is also very relevant intersectionality with the rising numbers of people who are unhoused, which is an issue we would appreciate giving voice to at the Interfaith Climate Retreat.
Good morning! I hope this email finds you well. This is Joanna Person-Michener emailing you from interfaithclimateretreat@gmail.com. My son Sam and I have returned to Fayetteville from our trip to Ontario!
We aim to bring together people of all faiths—and the public at large—to explore the challenges of climate change and the steps we can take to create a more sustainable future. The event will feature three screenings of the documentary series The Week (www.theweek.ooo), followed by discussions. It begins March 31, 2025, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville. Please note that this event involves gathering on three evenings, March 31st, April 3rd and April 7th.
Please help others know about the Interfaith Climate Retreat through your email listservs, word of mouth and newsletters!
Here is the PSA for your own outreach networks:

The Interfaith Climate Retreat is a call to action, bringing together faith leaders and community members for a powerful series of film screenings, discussions, and collective reflection on climate change. The film screenings feature The Week, which was designed to help everyone to engage with the topic. The Week is a powerful group experience that creates space for people to have brave conversations about the climate emergency, and what can be done about it. Across all spiritual traditions, there is a shared responsibility to care for the Earth—not only for ourselves but for future generations. Through an interfaith lens, we will explore the urgency of the climate crisis and the transformative power of community-driven action.
This unique event offers an immersive experience, fostering deep reflection and meaningful conversations about what’s coming and what we can do together. We welcome you to the dialogue, the reflection, and the commitment to a more sustainable future!
Join us in fostering hope, resilience, and meaningful change.
All are welcome! (See below)
