The survey is at the Public Survey link. It’s pretty simple. And please take advantage of the IDEA BOX below it. Tell the Commission ANYTHING you think they need to consider. It was a chance for me to plug saving our tree canopy and protecting old growth trees. Tell them about public transportation, or how diversity and inclusion relates, or anything that’s on your mind.
Olsson Environmental Engineering and Design is working with the Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning Commission to create a new Comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CCAP) to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase carbon sinks in the region.
Residents of NWA are encouraged to take the PUBLIC SURVEY to help prioritize our region’s goals and actions to create a more resilient future for Northwest Arkansas.
There’s also an IDEA BOX set up where the public can provide more open ended response about a model program, project concept, or other idea to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the region.
This phase in the planning process builds on the Priority Action Plan (PAP) that resulted in a $100 million Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) in July 2024 from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the implementation of environmental projects to reduce carbon emissions and enhance sustainability in Northwest Arkansas, Little Rock, and Fort Smith.
