Point in Time Count Volunteers & Training

The annual point-in-time count (PIT) of local homeless folks is rapidly approaching. It will occur on Friday, 1/26/2024. We are recruiting volunteers to help interview individuals on the 26th. Your help will be really important. You’ll get a new view of what homelessness is, and some of the systems that are trying to address it.

  • Volunteer sign-up: If you are interested in volunteering, please complete this short form
  • Please complete even if you are only planning to interview people at a specific program that you work at. This will help us track coverage and training needs.
  • Training: We will email again, but the general training is scheduled for Thursday, January 18 from 5:30 to 7:30.
  • It will be via Zoom; here is the link
  • A recording will also be posted shortly after.
  • Posters: If you work at a program where counting will take place, please consider placing these posters up a week in advance. We have English and Marshallese versions and are working on a Spanish translation.
  • Questions: If you have questions about the PIT, please don’t hesitate to contact any of the following:
  • John Gallagherjmgallag@uark.edu 479-575-2368
  • Morgan Willoughbymewillou@uark.edu
  • Debbie Martin: debbie.martin@nwacoc.com

Thanks for your support of this project to help us understand the size and needs of the local homeless population. Please do share this email with others in your network who you think may be interested.
