Orlo Stitt and Michele Halsell will share their knowledge of holistic green living for combatting climate change, and show homeowners how to create savings every month.
W. Orlo Stitt, President of The Stitt Group, is an NAHB Certified Green Professional. He has led seminars on energy efficiency across the country, and has won numerous awards recognizing his commitment to sustainable building. He currently lives in a net-zero PLUS energy efficient home in an energy planned and sustainable subdivision in northwest Arkansas. Mr. Stitt is the author of Holistically Green Homes, Eighteen Principles for Designing, Building and Retrofitting Your Energy Efficient Home. Hardcover and USB drive editions will be available for purchase at the talk.
Michele Halsell is the Assistant Director of the Sustainability Institute at Penn State University. Halsell has been working in the field of sustainability since 2007 when she accepted the position of Managing Director of the Applied Sustainability Center at the University of Arkansas. Her work there emphasized place-based sustainability and developing education and outreach programs aimed at community leaders. She has served on a number of local, state, and national boards and committees. Her mission as a sustainability professional is to accelerate learning about sustainability and expand the commitment to sustainable practices in the public and private sectors.
