We are up against another important deadline concerning the Hog CAFO on the Buffalo watershed and there’s something you can do about it.
Perhaps you have heard the Buffalo River below Big Creek has been designated as impaired. Sadly, there appears to be some trickery in the details. It was deemed to be a category 4b, and not a category 5. The State would be obligated to address a category 5 designation, while a 4b requires no action to reverse the identified problems.
The fine folks with the Buffalo River Watershed Alliance (BRWA) have made it easy to do your part. We have till Sept. 10th! Here is a link to the BRWA site and you will see a link to a sample letter right at the top. You can submit the letter as is, or use it to inform your own letter. It’s easy!

As you will see, the issue is complex and a bit difficult to comprehend. Still, it is important. BRWA is putting all their energy into this right now.
Thank you for helping out,
