Wayne Fincher, Washington County Militia
Wayne Fincher is a long-time advocate for justice and human rights in the area of the right of self-defense. He has written about this right in pieces such as "The Silver Bullet," and was instrumental in organizing the Militia of Washington County to publicize, promote,
and implement this right. He has also fearlessly publicized his cause, allowing newspapers to interview him and photograph him. Such publicity recently led the US federal authorities to arrest Wayne, after seeing a photo of him holding some homemade firearms in "The Morning News." He became a national celebrity after his arrest, especially after the US judge ruled that constitutional issues could not be brought up before the jury! Even many who disagreed with his position on the right to bear arms became concerned with such railroading and official government dismissal of the principles of justice and trial by jury, not to mention its own constitution.Wayne Fincher is recognized by his community as a hero of justice and individual rights. I nominate him for the Omni Peace and Justice Hero award.
