Arkansas Peace and Justice Heroes Awards
Nominations Open April 1, 2008

Peace Heroes 2008 - OmniCenter

You are now invited to nominate candidates for the 2008 Peace Heroes Awards. Anyone can nominate friends and community members for this prestigious award, presented to four Arkansans each year, for exemplary work in peace and justice. Past nominees have included activists, teachers, political leaders, writers, community organizers, and many other dedicated workers. You can find stories of most of these fine people in this section of the Omni website.

Nomination requirements are:
1.Nominee must be a resident of Arkansas
2.Must be acknowledged by her/his community to be a fine example of commitment to, and work for, their peace and justice cause
3.They can attend the Peace Heroes Banquet, June 14, 2008 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville
4.They are not a member of the Omni Center steering committee
The purpose of the Peace Heroes Award is to highlight exemplary peace and social justice work in Arkansas. Both individuals and groups may be nominated. Nominations will be encouraged from all parts of Arkansas, and many sources. When nominations are closed on May 1, a panel of judges will select four Awardees who will be honored from the Nominations made. Both Awardees and Nominees will be honored at the annual banquet.
