Keep Fayetteville Recycling Clean!

Recycling Tuesday Dec 6, 5:30 pm
City Council Chambers
Fayetteville City Hall

Many many Fayetteville residents are not even aware that the city has been discussing changing our current residential recycling collection system. The consultants will be at City Council on Tuesday, Dec. 6th to discuss their recommendation to switch to single stream. Some alderman are in a hurry to push through single stream. Others would like to be sure residents are informed. Ward 4 aldermen fall in the latter category.

Waste Reduction Resources will be hosting a trash class on Monday. I’ll skype in two colleagues, one from each coast. Together I think they have about 50 years in the recycling arena.

Currently Fayetteville has one of the cleanest recycling programs in the nation because we use curbsort collection. City Council is considering switching to single stream, a collection method that garbage haulers initiated.

Come learn why re-manufaturers (companies trying to make new product from our collected recyclables) did not initiate single stream and why they can’t speak up.

Citizens can speak up and your voice is needed if we are to save and enhance our great recycling program.
Please RSVP to www.WasteReuctionResources.com
Your RSVP will help prevent waste….I’ll know how many handouts to print off.
Thanks for caring enough to think beyond your recycle bin!
