Milbrath, Lester. Envisioning A Sustainable Society:
Learning Our Way Out (SUNY, 1989).
"...our environmental predicament has its origin in the very

transforming society." Modern society "has existed for an

because its present trajectory is not sustainable." (xi). The
book is a "vision for a new society" to enable us to imagine
a future different from the present corporate-consuming state.
