Sun Nov 19 – 4:00 pm – OMNI

Women who care, taking action together. Next meeting Joyce Hale from the League of Women Voters will come talk to us about voter registration. This is something we are interested in participating in.

We just finished holding an incredible talk by Ann Wright, and are taking on other new action. Upcoming stuff includes book studies and sponsorship of the annual Reproductive Health Rally in Little Rock, and other really good stuff. All women are invited to come.

Gun Violence Event

Thurs Nov 9 – 5:30 – Fay Public Library
League of Women Voters

Gun Violence
Out of frustration following the passage of a ludicrous law forcing our institutions of higher education all across Arkansas to allow concealed carry weapons on their campuses, the League of Women Voters decided that it was time for ACTION. Current events demand it as we mourn again the needless deaths from gun violence. It became obvious when we started our study that the dangers from guns are well documented and not only in Arkansas but all across the country. The problems stemming from expanded concealed carry guns have no place in a civilized society.

We have put together a panel of experts on gun violence to try to educate our citizens on the impact that the recent legislation will have in our state and hopefully together find creative ways to stop the insanity and help save lives.

Please join us at the Fayetteville Public Library on November 9th at 5:30 – 7: 30 to discuss this growing conflict in our society. Come away armed with information about the continuing proliferation and expanded permitting of fire arms that contaminate our public spaces.

Solar Project Install Day! Wooo Hooo!

It Happened! Sat Nov 4 — OMNI Center

It was a beautiful site, watching a smooth team work together to put this roof together. All the panels are in place. Next weekend the job will be to wire them all up to the inverter, and soon the system will be ready to plug into the electric grid.

Thank you’s to Flint Richter (Richter Solar), Terry Tremwel (Tremwel Energy), Donovan Nederland (electrician), and the volunteer team Richard Tiffany, Eric Fusilier, Michael Sidney, Arturo Rodriguez, and Lay Vongnerath. Hope I didn’t forget anybody. Orlo Stitt of Stitt Energy spent the afternoon with us, talking to interested folks.

ps: If you made a cash donation, and didn’t leave us your name, we still want to know who you are, please call us! 479-283-2167. A memory plaque is planned for the 30 or so people who donated to make this project possible. If your name is supposed to be there please check in with us to be sure you’ll receive the recognition you deserve.
