OMNI Family Thanksgiving

Thursday Nov 23 – noon-3:00 – OMNI Center This year Thanksgiving is for sharing. If you or somebody you know doesn’t have anybody to share Thanksgiving with please come join OMNI friends at Bennett House – OMNI Center for a potluck holiday meal. An OMNI member is planning to bring a small turkey, so this is not a vegetarian meal, but lots of vegetarian and vegan are welcome. For more info call Gladys at 479-283-2167.


OMNI Women’s Community

Sun Nov 19 – 4:00 pm – OMNI Women who care, taking action together. Next meeting Joyce Hale from the League of Women Voters will come talk to us about voter registration. This is something we are interested in participating in. We just finished holding an incredible talk by Ann Wright, and are taking on other new action. Upcoming stuff includes book studies and sponsorship of the annual Reproductive Health Rally in Little Rock, and other really good stuff. All women are invited to come.


A Truly Welcoming Community

Benefit Concert and Performance Art Event Fri November 17 – 7:00 pm Good Shepherd Lutheran Church 2925 Old Missouri Road There will be presentations by the Latin/x Youth Theatre Project, inspired by local Springdale writer/performers and Broad Daylight, an acapella quartet of local women. Poetry and music will be interspersed. Proceeds for the benefit will go towards AR Justice Collective and OMNI People Power; both of these groups are working to stem the illegal detention of immigrants by the WA County police, without a warrant.


Gun Violence Event

Thurs Nov 9 – 5:30 – Fay Public Library League of Women Voters Gun Violence Out of frustration following the passage of a ludicrous law forcing our institutions of higher education all across Arkansas to allow concealed carry weapons on their campuses, the League of Women Voters decided that it was time for ACTION. Current events demand it as we mourn again the needless deaths from gun violence.
